Introduction

Packaging is one system whose objective is to protect the contained product against an always-hostile environment of water, water vapor, air and its oxygen, microorganisms, insects, other intruders, dirt, pilferage, and so on—because a constant competition exists between humans and their surroundings. Packaging is designed to facilitate the movement of a product from its point of production to its ultimate consumption. If there is no product, there is no need for a package
Packaging is arguably the single most important link in the distribution chain that places a product into the hands of the consumer. In a very real sense, in today’s society, packaging might be regarded as an integral component of the product contained
The words package or packaging have different meanings, intended to convey different images. The package is the physical entity that actually contains the product. Packaging is the integration of the physical elements
So the packing service is considered as an important factor in progress of the industry and so the product that will be delivered to the costumer at a god condition. In spite of this important of packing process, we found that there are no factories in Egypt rake responsibility of producing such machines which have a great variety in shape, size and function to suit the great variety of products in weight and type. Each packing machine concerns with a certain product with a little variety in its shape and size
It is worth to mention that the famous countries in this technology ( packing technology) are ; Japan, Spain and Italy. It is found that there is local attempt to manufacture simple packing machines for packaging a certain simple product. It is seen that it is worth to try putting a real picture for the ability of design and manufacture such machines
This project comes to put a solid foundation to start producing such machines and pay attention to this problem and start to solve it
The aim of this project is to design an automatic vertical packing machine which gives a package of 0.5 litter. A requirement of this machine has come to view in Egypt when the Egyptian market and consumer require such type

of packages beside large ones. Another reason for selection such machine is the lack of local designs or production of these machines
A start point of our attempt was collecting all information related to these machines that was through specific catalogues and references. The next step was visiting some factories and packing units to see more about these machines. After these stages we could make the proposed design and manufacture the prototype
